April Letter from the ARA President

April showers bring May flowers – the old saying goes, but Mother nature in many areas of the country seems a little confused. Let’s just say the weather, at least in Pennsylvania, has been terrible 5inches of snow on the 18th.

I am so proud of our efforts to engage the entire industry to address long-standing problems with contracts, the need for updates, ancillary fees, portal communication issues, LPR concerns, dual assignments, and duplication of efforts on so many fronts. Thanks to Lisa Scott, who got the ball rolling, ARA met with nearly 40 lender participants and facilitators in Dallas for a very frank discussion on these subjects. The results are a level of open communication and cooperation never seen in this industry before. We discussed REAL solutions, and everyone is committed to bringing change and standardization to our industry. NARS will be the site for the next meeting, so come to Denver and help us move mountains.

More on NARS, One of the things I feel is so important to help us succeed – is to gain insights from individuals who are not in or from our industry. Anthony “AB” Bourke to Keynote NARS 2022 Our keynote speaker, Major Anthony “AB” Bourke, is a highly accomplished and decorated F-16 fighter pilot who flew tactical missions in service to our country. War/battle teaches many lessons that carry over to civilian life, Decision-making skills, brotherhood, working under pressure, adaptability, and overcoming, what appears to be, insurmountable odds. These are some of many of the topics to be discussed.

Lenders have scheduled meetings with their agents, State associations will be there for their annual update and strategy session, and GOLF with a lender in a fun 80’s themed outing full of prizes. Skills a little rusty? No Worries! This is a fun best-ball round; no pressure. Finally, and most importantly, be engaged, network, fellowship, and have your voice be heard. ARA is the voice of the industry, and YOU are The American Recovery Association.
