Repossession fight and gunfire in Charleston!
North Charleston, SC – April 7, 2022 – Not satisfied that the repossession agent was dropping the repo to avoid a breach of peace, a borrower attacked him in his truck. A shot was fired and the agent quickly found himself on the wrong end of his own gun.
Around 12:30 pm, North Charleston Police Department officers responded to a 911 call of a reported assault on Robertson Blvd in North Charleston.
Arriving officers met with a repossessor who reported that as he was attempting to repossess a vehicle and had it on the tow truck lift when the suspect, identified as Edward Javon Chisolm, came running across the street and jumped into it.
When informed by the agent that informed Chisolm that he could not pay for the release of the vehicle, Chisolm became agitated.
Preferring to not to create a breach of peace and further conflict, the agent advised Chisolm that he would drop the car because he “did not want to fight with him.”
Returning to the cab of his tow truck to lower the tow lift, Chisolm dived into the tow truck cab on top of the agent attempting to grab the controls.
Police report that the agent stated that he “feared for his life” and pulled a handgun out from underneath the steering wheel. Chisolm then allegedly tried to grab it which caused the agent to fire one shot into the truck’s roof so that Chisolm could not “potentially shoot him.”

At this point, a second individual arrived and grabbed the gun and handed it to Chisolm.
The agent was the dragged from the truck and thrown to the ground where the second unidentified individual proceeded to kick him.
