Akron, OH – April 7, 2022 – Spotted behind the residence, he’d just lifted it when the borrower emerged with a gun. Dropping it as demanded, the borrower wasn’t satisfied and opened fire.

On March 30th, an unnamed repossessor reported to the Akron Police Department that he had arrived at a residence on Canyon Brook Drive to repossess a Chevy Malibu. Having spotted it parked behind the owner’s address, he had begun towing the vehicle when a man came from behind a building.

Gun aimed at him, the man ordered him to put the car down, which he did.

Leaving the scene, the man opened fire. His truck was hit, but neither he or the person in his company were injured.

The adjuster called police, and the man who had fired on them fled in the Malibu. Police have not released the alleged shooters name.

Police spotted the Malibu on Merriman Road and initiated a traffic stop, but the driver fled.

Responding officers recovered a bullet from the truck and identified the driver of the Malibu. Provided visual reference, the agent and his assistant confirmed that he was the man that had fired upon them.

Warrants for arrest have been issued for the man on charges of aggravated menacing, robbery, felony fleeing, felonious assault and having a weapon while prohibited due to a prior felony conviction.
