An Open Letter to Lenders and Forwarders
GUEST EDITORIAL
It has been brought to my attention by numerous members of Eagle Group XX/USA that due to the rising cost of fuel, equipment, and maintenance of vehicles that they have asked for an increase in fees and/or a fuel surcharge and are being told, “You are the only one asking for an increase” or “No one else is requesting an increase”.
Based on numerous conversations with the members of Eagle Group XX/USA from across the United States this is the farthest thing from the truth. With hardly any exceptions everyone I speak with in the Eagle Group XX/USA, and as far as that goes in the entire asset recovery industry has requested additional fee increases to cover the escalating costs of doing business.
If the lenders and forwarding companies must ask why this increase is needed maybe, they are driving electric vehicles as for our industry this graph clearly explains just one of the rising costs, we are faced with… FUEL. Add to that insurance, maintenance, and the many other costs we are face with and the WHY? is very clear.
The refusal to pay higher fees or surcharges on the part of lenders and forwarding companies has put several agencies out of business and will continue to erode the industry if not properly addressed.
Therefore, let it be known that the following members of Eagle Group XX/USA are requesting additional fees and/or fuel surcharges as needed to meet the rising expenses and no longer can the excuse be used that, “NO ONE ELSE IS ASKING FOR AN INCREASE” or “YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE ASKING FOR AN INCREASE”.
You pay peanuts you get monkeys. We are Eagles not monkeys, and the members of Eagle Group XX/USA stand UNITED on this issue.
