Santa Clarita, CA – 22- December 2020 –A Canyon Country man was arrested Monday morning and faces numerous charges after pulling a BB gun on a recovery agent attempting to repossess his vehicle.
On Monday around 8 a.m., a man was trying to repossess a vehicle in the 27000 block of
Bouquet Canyon Road in Saugus, said Sgt. Joel Nebel, with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Detective’s Bureau.
“The man pulled a BB gun that looked like a Glock handgun, pointed it at the tow man and threatened to shoot him,” Nebel said.
Just before deputies arrived, the suspect reportedly hid the BB gun and a meth pipe under a different car, according to Nebel.
Deputies found the evidence and took the suspect into custody.
James Capps, 53, from Canyon Country, was arrested on criminal threats and assault with a
deadly weapon charges, both felonies, Nebel added.
Capps was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail with bail set at $50,000, according to arrest records.
