Woman Hits Repossession Agent with Car During Repo Dispute

St. Augustine, FL – June 5 2019 – A woman hit a man with her car, giving him minor injuries, after he tried to repossess her car Monday, according to the St. Augustine Police Department.

At approximately 1:34 p.m. police responded to 44 S. Whitney St. in response to a reported aggravated battery.

When police arrived at the scene a man told officers he was hit by a woman in her car as he was trying to repossess it.

The victim said that he was working with the suspect, Ranie Marsil Covil, to resolve payment issues with her finance company. After several minutes of Covil sitting in her car with the windows up, she started ignoring the victim and refused to leave get out of the vehicle. 

At that point, the victim told police he stood in front of the vehicle while another worker tried to hook up the vehicle for towing. That’s when Covil began to move the vehicle forward, striking the victim.

The victim sustained minor injuries and Covil was taken into custody for aggravated battery and transported to the St. John’s County Jail, police said.
