Business Owner Shoots and Kills Man in Court Ordered Repossession Attempt

Detroit, MI – 10 October 2018 – A Detroit business owner who had fallen into debt to the court stands accused of killing one man and shooting another who had been sent to appraise and repossess his property on the court’s behalf.   

Police said the incident occurred at 6:20 p.m. on Sept. 29. The two victims went to the business of David Unger at the 11800 block of Freud in Detroit to appraise and secure the property under court control for debts owed.

It is alleged that Unger, armed with a handgun, saw the men approach the property and fired multiple times, fatally shooting 56 year old Mark Sasinski

Sasinski was hit with multiple rounds and died while the other man was struck, but survived.

Unger was arraigned on first degree murder on Wednesday.
