Over $29K Raised for the RABF at The AFA/RSIG Conference in Louisville

Louisville, KY – 20 June 2018 – With a full house at the 2018 Conference on Repossession Education, Networking and Training co-hosted by Allied Finance Adjusters and Recovery Specialist Insurance Group last month in Louisville, Kentucky members of the industry stepped up big in supporting the Recovery Agents Benefit Fund.

Hundreds of raffle tickets for the Slide-In Lift unit donated annually by Anthony Gentile and Dynamic Towing Equipment and Manufacturing, drawing to be held this November at the Baltimore Tow Show, were purchased! Exhibitors like Anthony Gentile from Dynamic (3 Bank of America 500 NASCAR Race Weekend Packages), Mike Williams from Miller Industries (Antique Model Tow Trucks), Martin Giles from Atlanta Wrecker Sales (Autographed Sports Memorabilia), Detroit Wrecker (TowMate Tow Light Bar & Door Opening Kit), Lighthouse Insurance Services (Room Nights for the NASCAR Race Weekend package), Allied Finance Adjusters & Midwest Auction Sales (Vintage PosterGirl Prints, Collectible Zippo Lighters and Sterling Silver Bracelet) – all donated auction items that got the crowd excited and bidding big, some even bidding by phone!  Donations were also provided by ArtofSin Trading Company in Manassas in the form of customized barrels with the AFA, RSIG and RABF logos, a bacon crate from ManCrates, a RABF customized Louisville Slugger original baseball bat from Machelle Morris (legal counsel for AFA), a weekend Cabin getaway in Cumberland Furnace/Nashville TN from Mike Howk, JD (RSIG Director of Education) and a special Kentucky Derby edition of Kentucky Bourbon from Michelle Mauck of Mauck Recovery.

Auction attendees not only bid often and bid high, but Jim Aloi of James Aloi PI in Tallahassee, FL also started a $500 club challenge, and when challenged, auction attendees did not disappoint!  If you want to be part of the 500 Club, you can still make your $500 donation via PayPal, or by sending your check payable to the RABF to PO Box 4102, Manassas, VA 20108.  500 Club members will be recognized on the RABF website starting soon!

At this year’s live auction, RABF committee chairman, John Michel of WebWeaver USA introduced David Baker of PK Willis d/b/a American Recovery Service as the newest member of the RABF Advisory Committee.  The committee is responsible for promoting the RABF throughout their interactions in the industry and to review applications for assistance that come in and make disbursement recommendations.  The committee is comprised of representatives from industry trade groups and individuals like David Baker who reached out to the RABF looking to get involved and help.  David presented the RABF with a check in the amount of $5000.00 with a pledge for PK Willis d/b/a American Recovery Service to continue making monthly donations in the amount of $500.00 moving forward.

The RABF would also like to thank Credit Acceptance Corporation for their continued support.  They have started annual fundraising initiatives at their offices and this year, presented the RABF with a $2000 donation raised through the sale of chocolate covered pretzels in their office.  Tiny Sebastian of CAC was on-hand to attend the conference and while not a fan of public presentations, was recognized for CAC’s effort in supporting the repossession industry.

In total $29,474.00 was raised for the benefit of the RABF at this event and fun was had by all who participated and watched this interactive event.
