GA Man Arrested for Firing Gun during Repo

Oconee, GA – 4 February 2018 –  On Jan. 26, Deputy Justin Cash was dispatched about 4:15 a.m. to a location on Colham Ferry Road, where a 46-year-old Dacula man reported that while he was attempting to repossess a car, a man exited the house, fired a gun and threatened to kill him.

The man said he already had the car hooked up, so in the wake of the threats he disconnected the vehicle, then drove a distance down the road to call 911. At the same time, the victim was on the telephone with a co-worker from C&O Recovery and Towing in Winder and that man was also able to witness what happened.

This man also called 911. The deputy went to the home and saw people on the front porch. The suspect explained his wife woke him saying someone was taking her car. The man said he didn’t know what was going on, so he got his gun to protect his property and fired one shot into the air.

Walter Edward Luther, 53, was placed under arrest for felony aggravated assault and reckless conduct. He was released later that day on a $10,000 bond.
