Alamo, TX – April 30, 2024 – In what appears to be a gas station repossession attempt, an unnamed Repossessor encountered a likely drug-fueled borrower. Man vs. Car; car wins pretty much every time. In this case, the Repossessor got his legs run over.

At 8:15am the Alamo Police Department responded to a report of an “auto-pedestrian” accident at the intersection of FM 495 and Cesar Chavez Road, a sparse area with only a gas station as a major landmark, and likely the location of incident.

Scene of the crime

Arriving officers found the victim with what is described as “severe injuries to his legs” and unable to walk. Upon interviewing the unnamed male victim, they were informed that in the process of his attempt to repossess the borrower’s vehicle, the borrower had intentionally run over his legs with the vehicle he was attempting to repossess.

The victim identified the man who had run him over as 34-year-old Juan Lopez.

GPS in the vehicle track it down to the 400 block of Cancun Street in San Juan. Police attempted contact Lopez and things went from bad to worse. Lopez fled.

After a high-speed chase through Alamo and into neighboring Mercedes before ultimately coming to a stop at the 600 block of Mathis Street in Mercedes, Lopez was apprehended.

Police stated that Lopez has been charged with multiple charges including aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, evading arrest on foot and in a motor vehicle, resisting arrest and possession of dangerous drugs.

The identity and condition of the man whose legs were run over are still unknown but we will keep you posted if information develops.
