In Critical Condition
Houston, TX – August 17, 2023 – She’d safely made it out of the apartment complex. Repossession successful, or so they thought until she noticed that she was being followed by two men in an SUV. Before she could call for back-up, they opened fire. Woman Shot in Neck During Repossession
What began as a smooth repossession turned into a nightmare for an unnamed man and woman repossessing a car from an apartment complex late Wednesday night. It was just about 11:30PM when a woman was driving a green Chevy sedan which had just been repossessed from a nearby apartment complex.
Soon after, she realized that she was being followed by two men in a white Porsche SUV. Without warning, they pulled up alongside her and fired two shots. One round struck her in the back of the neck.
Injured, she called her partner and pulled into a Valero gas station at Westheimer Road and Joel Wheaton Road on Houston’s West Side. The two men in the white Porsche SUV followed.
Her companion arrived very soon after and reportedly confronted the occupants of the Porsche advising them; ‘Hey listen, we’re just repossessing your vehicle.’ One of the occupants was reported to have said; “No, you’re not.”
Upon realizing that they’d shot her, they fled.
The unnamed 33-year-old woman was airlifted by Life Flight to a nearby hospital. She was in critical condition but is expected to survive.
Police report that they believe they know the identity of the suspects. No arrests have been reported as of yet and the investigation is ongoing.

Editors Note: By the nature of the driver having a key to drive the repossession, it is probable that the repossession duo were working for or employees of a Buy Here-Pay-Here (BHPH) lender.
