Nashville, TN – 2 August, 2016 – A man has been arrested after allegedly threatening to shoot two men who attempted to repossess his car.
According to an affidavit from Metro Nashville Police, the victim and a co-worker got a ping from a GPS to a car due for repossession on McGavock Pike and Music Valley Drive.
As they were hooking up the vehicle to the tow truck, a suspect – identified as 48-year-old George Earl Whobrey – who had been asleep in the backseat, suddenly woke up.
Police said he got out, went to the trunk and reached inside for what appeared to be a weapon.
Both hands were inside a glove, when he pressed it to the victim’s head and allegedly said, “you’re going to die tonight mother [expletive].
Authorities said Whobrey forced both men to their knees and said, “I’m going to blow your brains out.” From there, he left the scene.
He was later arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
