Where the repossession industry gets its news

The RABF Needs Your Help in 2019 More Than Ever!

It’s a New Year and There is More Need Than Ever for Contributions!

It is first quarter of 2019 and the RABF has already made $14,000 in distributions this year.  In 2018, the Recovery Agents Benefit Fund disbursed over $60,000 to repossession industry families in need due to a variety of circumstances from serious auto work related auto accidents where the employer didn’t carry workers comp, repossessors being shot and injured, families who lost their sole source of income when someone died from cancer or heart issues and families who needed assistance with burial costs.

These circumstances demonstrate why the RABF is so important, but should also serve as a reminder to employers and employees alike regarding the importance of doing everything one can to find a way to have insurance coverage for these types of events.  The Recovery Agents Benefit Fund cannot serve as a substitute for workers compensation or life insurance; and our ability to help the industry is dependent upon the support of the industry, which in leaner times decreases.

The RABF needs the continuous and on-going support of the industry it serves but very few individuals or companies give to the RABF on a regular basis without any expectation of something in return.  In the heat of the moment and excitement of an event, many are quick to buy raffle tickets or bid on auction items; but few are the supporters who commit on a regular basis to donating.  Did you know you can set up regular recurring donations through PayPal?  Go to the Make A Donation link on our website www.recoveryagentsbenefitfund.com to get started!

American Recovery Service/PK Willis became the RABF’s first monthly client contributor last year and they have stayed true to their word with making a $500 donation every month.  GM Financial remains a loyal supporter of the fund with their $3000 annual donation.  At the 2018 PARNorth America Agent event, PAR quadrupled their previous year’s donation with an astounding $40,000 check generated from the live auction event and vendor support.  We are waiting for word on the final figures from the Primeritus Agent Meeting held in the fall 2018, but remain optimistic that repossession agents who participated in this event showed up strong in support of the RABF!

But just think if every repossessor, nationwide, were to donate say… $10 per month or per pay period to the RABF.  Funds would be coming in on a regular basis and the Recovery Agents Benefit Fund would stand ready to help when needed.  We would not be majorly dependent on the trade show season to sell raffle tickets or the generosity of a few organizations who may choose the RABF as their charitable organization of choice for that year.

2019 will in all probability be the year that the Recovery Agents Benefit Fund exceeds the milestone mark of having donated over half a million dollars to the industry.  It is unfortunate that so many in this industry are unable to 1) protect their employees or 2) prepare for the unexpected themselves; but it is extremely fortunate that the RABF can be there to help.

I’m speechless to the generosity of yall at RABF.. this will help me and my kids SO MUCH!!!! Thank you…”  – Eric (Feb 2019)

Thank you so much for the quick reply and generous help to Eric and his children. We as an organization have always been advocates for the RABF and this only cements our belief in the fund and the good work it does.  Thank you again – We are all moved by the generous donation!” – Paige (Feb 2019)

“Words cannot express how appreciative we are for the benefit of this fund and all the efforts to ease some of the burden on a victim’s family” – Cindy (Jan 2018)

The Recovery Agents Benefit Fund is a 100% volunteer organization, with no one involved in the fund drawing any sort of salary or compensation.  We are recognized by the IRS as a 501c3 Charitable Organization.  Administrative costs to operate the fund account for 4% to 5% of total funds collected; meaning 95% or more of what we receive we are able to give back to the industry.

To all those who have donated in the past, your support and generosity are greatly appreciated.  To those who may just be learning about the RABF, one time or recurring donations can be made via PayPal at our website (www.recoveryagentsbenefitfund.org), or can be mailed to RABF, PO Box 4102, Manassas, VA 20108. To those who have heard of the RABF, but have not donated, we ask you
