Roswell, GA – March 29, 23 – It was a freak accident. With back-to-back babies, the borrowers had been trying to catch up on bills after delivering their 6-week-old newborn. Unable to work out payment arrangements with their lender, the repossession agent was outside. Calmly removing his property, he’d gone inside to drop them off when he heard it hit.

The event occurred on March 22, when the unnamed repossessor arrived at the home of Benjamin Paul to repossess the family car.

“I collected our car seats and valuables from the car and went back downstairs to work,” Benjamin states in their online fundraiser for the family. “Seconds later, I heard a huge boom and the sounds of glass shattering.”

Allegedly, the repossession agent, shown in the video, had failed to secure the car on the lift and it had rolled into the family’s living room. His body language shown in the video says enough about the pit in his stomach.

Paul states that when he got downstairs, he saw his wife picking up his 1-year-old, who was just within inches of the crash.

Paul and his family have been staying in a hotel since the accident. Immediately following the accident, Paul said that he was told that it would take three weeks for insurance to settle, but the issue is now allegedly tied up in litigation as the companies try and figure out who is at fault.

“My wife and I talked at length if I should share this story because it’s embarrassing for the family.. that’s fine,” Paul stated. “I would rather humble myself and ask for help than suffer in silence.”

Paul reports that the car knocked in the wall and the window and damaged their furniture. The family of six is now hoping for the kindness of strangers to help them get back on their feet.
