“He’s attacking my wife! He’s attacking my wife!”
Clermont, FL – May 27, 2025 – An SUV repossession nearly turned deadly after a man allegedly beat the wife of a repossessor during a Saturday night repo attempt.
Shortly after midnight on Saturday, an unnamed husband and wife arrived at a Lake County residence to repossess a Ford SUV. The husband had already secured the SUV to the tow truck and the wife was in the driver side of the SUV when Enio De Costa Corgozinho, emerged from a residence and allegedly began struggling with the woman.

The unnamed repossession agent called 911 reported; “This guy just put his hands on my wife,” the husband said. “We were repossessing the vehicle, he just assaulted my wife,” he told the 911 dispatcher before Corgozinho returned to the residence.
But soon after, Corgozinho returned and while the repossessor was still on the phone, the husband frantically reports to the dispatch that “He’s attacking my wife! He’s attacking my wife!“
“I hear him attacking her,” the dispatcher said. “They’re coming as quickly as they can.” What followed as an inaudible commotion ensuing in the background as the agent doubtlessly ran to his wife’s aide.
On the 911 call, the husband can then be heard shouting at the man to “back away.“
Police documents state that Corgozinho pushed the husband to the ground.
When deputies arrived, Corgozinho was arrested and booked on felony battery charges.
But things took a frightening turn soon after as the woman was giving deputies a statement on the incident. She became unconscious and briefly stopped breathing. The woman had to be taken to a hospital where she was eventually stabilized.
It was noted by deputies that as they escorted Corgozinho to jail, they could smell alcohol on his breath.
In addition to the pending felony assault charges, Court records show Corgozinho has prior arrests for driving with a suspended license. He currently sits in the Lake County Jail with a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer placed on him as he awaits his court date on June 16th.
