Chippewa Township, MI – 24 February 2020 – Deputies from the Isabella County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call last week involving a Chippewa Township man who pulled a gun on a recovery agent attempting to repossess his car which escalated into a physical altercation.
An unnamed 25-year old repossession agent called 911 late last Wednesday morning to report a 28-year-old Chippewa Township man that had pulled a 9mm pistol on him in the 10000 block of Pickard Road, according to Sheriff Michael Main.
The agent entered onto the property to repossess a car, when the borrower confronted him with a gun, pointing it at him and then into the air. Allegedly, when the recovery agent advised the unnamed borrower that he was there to repossess the car, borrower reportedly said that “he didn’t care.”
The borrower then allegedly entered the house, returning with a 9mm handgun and pulling the repossession agent out of the subject vehicle at gun point threatening to kill him.
The two struggled briefly before the repossession agent put the borrower into a headlock on the ground, where he held him.
When deputies interviewed the borrower, he claimed that he put the gun away when he realized the other man wasn’t there to steal the car and denied assaulting the agent.
The case has been referred to the Isabella County Prosecutor’s Office for possible charges.
