Borrower fired first, borrower in critical condition and to be charged – Updated 10-14-21, 12:49 PM EST
San Antonio, TX – October 13, 2021 – According to San Antonio Police, a borrower was shot several times following his confrontation with a recovery agent during a repossession Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, the yet unnamed, 27 year old borrower emerged from his Southwest Side San Antonio residence as the likewise unnamed recovery agent had the vehicle attached to his tow truck and was in the process of repossessing his vehicle.
The borrower emerged to confront the agent and was armed. He allegedly yelled at teh agent and fired at least one round at him.
An argument ensued and the adjuster, feeling that his life was in danger, drew his own gun. Opening fire he hit the man several times in the torso and critically wounding him.
Police report that the repossession agent was licensed to carry the gun and was cooperative with arriving officers.
The unnamed borrower was rushed to Brooke Army Medical Center where he was reported to be in critical condition.
Police now say that the agent is expected to face a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The investigation is reportedly still in progress.
