Repo Truck Stolen During Repo

Repo Truck Stolen During RepoMemphis, TN – August 2, 2016 – No one wants to see their car being towed, but what police say a driver did in Whitehaven is a story to remember.

Workers at Boost Mobile on Faronia Drive said one customer they had Monday afternoon especially stuck out.

They said the man was inside Boost Mobile trying to sell a cell phone.

That’s when he saw his car was being towed out front, which had a passenger inside.

Workers said he ran out, hopped into his car with the woman who was driving and they tried to drive off the tow truck.

However, when that didn’t happen, police said he got out, got into the tow truck and took off with both vehicles.

Workers said it all happened while the tow truck driver was out of the truck taking pictures of the suspect’s car.

He was there to repossess the car.

Our calls to him went unanswered.

Police said the two suspects, Jeffrey Brown and Alexius Golliday, then unhooked the car from the wrecker truck at a location near the store and drove off.

Police reported Brown drove through two houses’ yards before ditching the car along Auburn Road.

They said he tried to run, but was arrested soon after.

Brown’s now facing charges from driving with a suspended license to evading arrest to theft.

His record shows prior theft and driving violations.

Golliday’s in custody on a probation violation.
