Shots Fired at Repossession Agent, Triggers SWAT Siege

Bell County, TX – February 7, 2026 – It all went down in broad daylight in a rural Texas neighborhood. A repossession, shots fired and a tow truck hit. Sheriff’s deputies, a SWAT Team and a drone later, a man ended up in cuffs.

It was just before 2pm on February 5th, when Deputies from the Bell County Sheriff’s Office got the call. Shots fired at a residence on the 7400 block of Sparta Road. Upon arriving at a safe distance from the residence, they met the repossession agent who told the tale.

According to reports, the repossessor had attempted to repossess a vehicle from a residence when things went sideways. Allegedly, Ryan Neal Amos emerged from the residence armed with a handgun.

Wisely, the agent fled the scene. But as he was leaving, Amos is reported to have fired at least one round at him which struck his tow truck.

Deputies attempted to contact Amos, but he refused to emerge from the residence. Next up, The Bell County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, crisis negotiators and the Criminal Investigations Division were called in for assistance. Providing officers a safe distance to surveil the residence, the Temple Police Department deployed a drone.

Officers managed to convince Amos to surrender without further incident.

Amos has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bond was set at $45,000. He remains in custody at the Bell County Jail.
