Repo Man Shot at Over a 2015 Nissan

Oakland, CA – July 26, 2025 – Life is pretty cheap to some, but any rational and sane person knows that no car is worth dying for. But is a car worth killing for? Apparently so for one Oakland man, who found a 2015 Nissan Altima worthy of the effort.

It was just before sunrise on May 22nd on the 900 block of 91st Avenue in Oakland when an unnamed repossessor had lifted a 2015 Nissan Altima from a residence. Irate, the unnamed 36-year-old man ran back inside the house and came back with his gun and opened fire.

Fortunately, the agent escaped unharmed and had captured the assault on his body cam, Reporting the incident to the Oakland Police, they arrived and identified the man as well as the weapon used as belonging to him.

Unfortunately, he was not present at the scene to be taken under arrest. On May 23rd, an arrest warrant was issued for him, but he wasn’t captured until earlier this month.

At a July 24th preliminary hearing, the man pleaded not guilty to charges of assault with a firearm, shooting at an occupied car, and firing a gun with gross negligence. He was not noted as having been granted bail.

Blue collar and low income, like Detroit, Oakland, California is a notoriously dangerous city. It was here in September of last year and agent was shot at and beaten during a repo attempt and just over four years ago, Repossessor and father of four, Tim Nielsen was murdered.

So, what kind of person is willing to kill for a 2015 Nissan? We’ll probably never know. As eager as the press was to hide the defendants name, the Alameda County District Attorney will likely be just as eager to reduce the charges to a misdemeanor. With the pathetic sentencing handed down in the Tim Nielsen murder, odds are pretty good that the shooter will never have to face true justice.
