Cleveland, OH – April 26, 2023 – The borrower’s boyfriend had called again and again trying to get his girlfriend’s car back despite being told they would have to wait until morning. When the agent arrived to drop off another car at the yard, he found them waiting. And they weren’t taking “no” for an answer.
Police report that on April 13th, an unnamed 24-year-old repossession agent employed by Private Property Towing in the city’s Bellaire-Puritas neighborhood, had repossessed a Nissan Rogue from 39-year-old Tiffany Gibson.
According to the agent, the borrower’s boyfriend, 39-year-old Keith Wall, had called repeatedly demanding they release the vehicle and was denied being told that they would have to wait until morning. According to police, a short time later after midnight, the same agent was returning to the lot to drop off another unit when he found Gibson and Wall outside the gates waiting.
Again, advising them that they would have to wait until morning, the agent reportedly left the lot. But behind him were Wall and Gibson. As the truck turned onto Longmead Avenue, police allege that Wall opened fire, according to the police report.
Wall, in the passenger seat as Gibson drove, reportedly fired three or four rounds from behind the truck as they chased him and then fired another shot as they passed him, according to authorities.
Police did not find any bullet holes in the truck but did locate two spent shell casings on Longmead where the alleged shooting started as well as found two area residents that also claim to have heard gunfire, police reported.
Tiffany Gibson, who police report drove the car, faces felonious assault charges. On Saturday, she was detained on a $10,000 bond. Her case was transferred to the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court.
Wall was reported as not in custody.
There is no mention of injury to the agent.
All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

Editors Note: The original story repeatedly refers to the incident as repossession related. The named company, Private Property Towing in the city’s Bellaire-Puritas neighborhood, shows no internet presence and operates out of a parts yard. While the name implies they simply do private party tows, which it may be, it is almost as likely that they do perform some repossession work.
