“As of today, a total of 433 houses have been confirmed as damaged, with over 300+ households displaced from their homes.”
On Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, just after 6 p.m., a Learjet 55 operated by Jet Rescue Air Ambulance crashed along Cottman Avenue in front of the Roosevelt Mall in Philadelphia. All six passengers on board died. In addition, a large swath of the affected neighborhood went up in flames and debris. For any lenders desiring repossession services in this part of the city, at least one agency has already ceased operations in this area.
Dear Clients,
I hope this message finds you well. Upon my return from an extended weekend getaway abroad, I have gathered more information from my field crews regarding the tragic medical plane crash that occurred shortly after takeoff in northeast Philadelphia bound for Tijuana Mexico over the weekend. Our field investigators and agents have reported that multiple streets in the surrounding area are difficult to access due to road closures and the presence of damaged, vacant homes.
As of today, a total of 433 houses have been confirmed as damaged, with over 300+ households displaced from their homes.
The affected zip code is 19149. I kindly ask that you inform your teams and lenders about the potential delays in service for this area for the foreseeable future.
Lastly, I urge you to join me in keeping all the families affected, particularly those of the seven individuals who lost their lives, in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Best regards,
Mr. Carmino M. Giannone

All of our hearts go out to passengers and persons physically harmed as well as the people who live in this neighborhood. I know that most reasonably minded persons in the repossession industry who operate in this area are likewise showing similar restrictions.
I also hope that all lenders and forwarders who have not already considered the impact on this area you may desire to put a hold on this zip code for a while. It’s the decent thing to do.
