Youngstown, OH – December 16, 2022 – He thought he’d gotten away with the incident from late September and it was far behind him. But the only thing behind him Thursday afternoon were flashing police lights. Heart racing; he was sure they knew he was holding, so he swallowed the drugs and pulled over. But this routine traffic stop turned out worse than he expected.

According to police, it all started back on September 29th at about 10am on Plum Street when an unnamed repossessor was attempting to recover a vehicle. It was allegedly then, that 19-year-old Darnell Jackson opened fire on him.

While the agent was fortunate enough to have survived injury, police were unable to ascertain or prove at the time who was the shooter. Despite searching all of the occupants of the house where the incident occurred, officers found none of them armed.

Failing to obtain the homeowners permission, officers searched the house and found several semi-automatic rifles. But it wasn’t until later when investigators received their big break. Security video from the very same house which identified the shooter.

Jackson was pulled over on a routine traffic stop at Market Street and East Hylda avenues in Youngstown at 2:10 pm on Thursday. Running a routine check, officers discovered Jackson had a warrant for his arrest issued just hours earlier.
