Woman Slaps and Assaults Repo Team

Dallas Township, PA – An irate woman struck a repo man with a Jeep and slapped his partner in the face when they tried to repossess the vehicle on behalf of a bank, township police say.

Charlene Burton, 35, was arraigned Monday and sent to jail in connection with the Feb. 15 incident at 2 Rays Lane.

Burton was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment.

A criminal complaint filed by Dallas Twp. police includes a lengthy statement from the alleged victim, Larry Totaro.

Totaro said Burton bolted from her house, shouting profanities, when he and his partner arrived at the “debtor’s” house and started putting chains on her vehicle, which was to be legally repossessed.

He said Burton hopped in and started the vehicle after slapping his partner, Mike Wagner in the face as he tried to stand in the way of the door.

With the driver’s side doors open, Burton quickly reversed the vehicle and hit Totaro with the door.

Totaro said he jumped in the back seat when she put the vehicle in drive and drove it to the rear of the property, with towing company chains still attached to it.

Police were then called to the scene and the repossession was completed.

Totaro noted he suffered cuts and contusions to his leg from being hit with the vehicle.

Burton was arraigned Monday and jailed in lieu of five percent of $15,000 bail. She was later released on bail.
