Legs Amputated and Burns over 50% of his Body
Joey Mofield was simply doing his job when his life changed forever. While driving a rollback for ATR, Joey was involved in a devastating accident with a semi-truck. The impact caused the cab of the rollback to ignite in flames. The damage was so severe that the front cab of the truck was essentially disintegrated.

By the grace of God and the quick actions of complete strangers, Joey is still alive today.
Two high school students and their mother stopped and rushed to help. The boys were ROTC students who had been trained in emergency response. They pulled Joey from the burning cab and were able to apply a tourniquet, actions that ultimately saved his life.
Joey suffered catastrophic injuries.
He has lost his entire left leg and his right leg from the knee down. In addition to these traumatic amputations, Joey suffered severe burns covering approximately 40–50% of his body.
He is currently hospitalized and has been moved from the trauma floor to the burn unit where he will remain for an extended period of time. Joey is facing countless surgeries, skin grafts, and a very long road of recovery and rehabilitation.
The physical challenges alone will be life-altering, but the reality is that Joey will now have to learn an entirely new way of living. What his normal life looks like moving forward will be drastically different as he learns to navigate life without his legs while also recovering from severe burn injuries.
Beyond Joey’s suffering, his family is also facing unimaginable hardship. His wife has not left his side throughout this entire ordeal and continues to remain with him as he fights through surgery after surgery.
The road ahead will be long and difficult, and the financial strain from medical expenses, rehabilitation, travel, and everyday living costs will only add to the burden they are already carrying.
This fundraiser is being supported and promoted by the Tennessee Association of Accredited Repossessors (TAAR) to help one of our industry family members in his time of need. However, all donations raised will go directly to Joey Mofield and his family. No funds will pass through the association.
Every donation, every share, and every prayer means the world during this incredibly difficult time. Every dollar raised goes directly to Joey and his family to assist with medical costs, recovery, and the many challenges that come with rebuilding life after such a devastating event.
Our industry family has always been strong when we come together. If you’re able, please consider donating and sharing the fundraiser. Most importantly, please keep Joey, his wife, and their family in your thoughts and prayers.
