Arrest Following Armed Assault on Repo Man

Victorville, CA – November 10, 2015 – A repo man was attacked and had his life threatened as he attempted to repossess a vehicle. On Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 11:22 A.M., deputies from the Victorville Station responded to the County TAD facility located at 15010 Palmdale Road.

According to Sgt. Ken Lutz, A repossessor was attempting to remove a vehicle from the parking lot when he was confronted by the owner of the vehicle. The owner, 29-year-old Caleb Peterson, a resident of Victorville struck the victim several times, attempted to pull the victim from his tow truck and take the tow truck and the repossessed vehicle.

During the struggle, comments by Peterson made the victim in fear he would be shot. The victim called 911 and a struggle could be heard by Sheriff’s Dispatch and the information was relayed to the responding deputies.

Deputy Acosta arrived and witnessed the victim was being struck by Peterson. Deputy Acosta was able to overcome Peterson’s resistance and effect an arrest. While being searched, a handgun was located in Peterson’s back waistband area. The gun was safely removed along with a largeArrest Following Armed Assault on Repo Man knife without incident.

The victim sustained minor injuries and Petersen was booked at the High Desert Detention Center.Peterson is currently being held on a $125,000 bail. He’s due in court on Friday, November 13th.
