As you are most likely aware, the State of Illinois has signed into law an amendment to the current Illinois Collateral Recovery Act. This amendment (225 ILCS 422/110), shown below, will go into effect January 1, 2024.
Many of you have reached out to your agent network(s), requesting information about procedures regarding this new requirement in the State of Illinois.
The Alliance of Illinois Repossessors is currently working with companies across the state to create Standard Operating Procedures that will ensure agent/agency compliance as the new law goes into effect. We will make this information readily available to all and encourage all network partners to share with their respective clients.
As always, the Alliance of Illinois Repossessors board members are available to discuss this landmark bill. We look forward to your partnership in this matter.
