Where the repossession industry gets its news

AFA Set To Educate Members on Emerging Compliance Regulations

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

RALEIGH, N.C. – Allied Finance Adjusters is set to hold a national compliance seminar to educate its members and guests about regulations mandated by federal government and lending institutions.

AFA, in cooperation with Recovery Specialist Insurance Group (RSIG, www.rsig.com), will sponsor the day-long class for invited repossessors as a first-step tool to become compliant within the rules under the watch of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB, www.consumerfinance.gov).

The seminar is slated to take place Sept. 19 at the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. AFA and RSIG members are welcomed to register to attend at no cost.

AFA continues to work toward giving its members the tools to succeed in the repossession industry. The AFA Executive Committee has appointed Tom Wentling as chairman of the AFA Compliance & Education Committee, and he has been working with RSIG Director of Education Michael Howk.

“Allied and RSIG have compiled a procedural manual based on current information outlined by the CFPB and several clients,” AFA President George Badeen said. “This important seminar’s goal is to put members of both groups ahead of competition and stay within the compliance requirements of prominent lending institutions.”

The seminar coincides with AFA’s Midyear Meetings, which include a Board of Directors meeting.

“Allied has a long history of preparing our members for the future of the industry,” Badeen said. “As the rules within CFPB change and are modified, both AFA and RSIG will continue to update and adapt to new policies as needed. These measures are scheduled to ensure members have an avenue to stay within compliance with the financial organizations they service.”

For more than 76 years, AFA has educated, represented and connected repossessors and lenders in the industry on a nationwide level. AFA is member driven, and every member has an equal voice toward AFA’s future.
