RABF Surpasses $1 Million in Assistance – Celebrating an Industry’s Generosity While Remembering the Hardship Behind Every Dollar
With our latest disbursement to a pregnant widow in Tennessee who lost her husband in a hit and run motorcycle accident in August, the RABF has hit an emotional milestone of now having distributed over $1 Million dollars to more than 150 families in need since our beginning in December 2002.
The RABF advisory committee is tasked with reviewing applications submitted and making recommendations on disbursements. This rewarding work is also very difficult because committee members often have to review heart wrenching information sharing in what is sometimes the worst moments in a family’s life.
We would like to take the opportunity to thank the RABF Advisory Committee members for their time, dedication and service:
John Michel WebWeaver USA Committee Chairman
George Badeen Midwest Recovery & Adjustment Inc
Bennett Deese Home Detective Co
Marcelle Egley ABA Recovery Service
George Bud Wilkins Omni Recovery Service
Bryan Russell Toyota Financial Services
David Baker PAR North America
The RABF would not be able to do what we do without the support of the industry. The majority of funds raised for the RABF is done at industry events like the co-hosted annual meetings of RSIG and Allied and events like NARS hosted by American Recovery Association. In recent years, state associations have also started making an impact as well with special recognition of the Tennessee and Georgia state associations who have set a very high bar in terms of more regional and local grass roots efforts.
Industry vendors like Dynamic Towing Equipment and Manufacturing and Royal Key Supply have implemented programs to provide ongoing support of the RABF, including the raffle of a Dynamic Slide-In Unit (winner to be drawn next June at REPO2027 in Frisco Texas – buy your tickets or enter the drawing online here: https://www.recoveryagentsbenefitfund.org ) and Royal Key Supply’s “Turn Your Used Keys Into Donations Program.”

American Recovery Service / PK Willis remain the only client/forwarder who contribute monthly to the RABF. PAR North America, GM Financial and Credit Acceptance Corporation continue their annual donations and support.
Distributing over $1 Million in aid and support to repossessors or their families is bittersweet because it is an amazing accomplishment to be able to collect that amount over the years and to be able to help when needed. But it is also a heart breaking statistic because it means that there are still so many within this industry who are not protected by worker comp and/or who do not have things like life and health insurance to help pay for injury or illness. It is also a stark and sometimes dark reminder of how difficult and dangerous this industry and life in general can be.
To all who have made supporting the Recovery Agents Benefit Fund part of your business culture, Thank you! You have made this Million Dollar Milestone possible!
