With over 50 years in the asset recovery industry and more than 20,000 recovery assignments under his belt, Ron Brown, Facilitator for Eagle Group XX/USA is recognized nationwide as an “Expert Witness” in wrongful repossession cases ranging from breach of peace to violations of UDAAP. In several cases where he recently wrote opinions and provided testimony, he recognized a new and recurring issue which came up when the agency owner or manager was deposed.

The issue arose when the opposing attorney questioned the person being deposed regarding employee training… “Yes, your employee was (FACT, CARS, RISC) trained but what training qualified the employee’s trainer to be a trainer?”. In each case the only reply in one form or another, was “Experience and time in the industry”.

It was then clarified by the opposing attorney that the men and women training agency employees had no training to qualify them as trainers. No knowledge of adult learning or thinking styles, no knowledge of training methods or training models, and no knowledge of measuring the effectiveness of the training.

It was apparent that this was a void which needed to be filled, and the Eagle Group XX once again stepped up to design a training program for recovery agency employees who train or retrain other agency employees.

This new credentialing module, CART (Credentialed Asset Recovery Trainer) has a Training Manual, Power Point for group training, as well as a 50-question test.

The training module contains the following sections, Benefits of Training, Guidelines For Selecting Trainers, Training Program Outline, Characteristics of Adult Learners, How Adults Learn, Adult Learning Styles, Adult Thinking Styles, Adult Learning Motivation, Training Your Agents, Determining Training Needs, Agency Objectives, Training format, Length of training, Training period expectations, 90/20/8 Rule, ROPES Training Model, Common Training Methods, Training Activities, and concludes with a section on Measuring the Effectiveness of Training Methods.

Upon completion of the training and successfully passing the 50 questions test the participant will be credentialed by EAGLE GROUP XX as an Asset Recovery Trainer (ART) and may maintain that credential by completing annual continuing education training and testing.

This new and innovative training will be offered at no charge to all attendees of the Allied Finance Adjusters/Eagle Group XX/ CALR joint meeting to be held November 17-21 in Las Vegas.
