Repo Agent Shot at AL Gas Station
Birmingham, AL – July 16, 2024 – An unnamed repossessor had just repossessed a vehicle from the 4600 block of 12th Avenue North Tuesday afternoon. Pulling away, he came under fire. Speeding away, he sought refuge at the nearby Shell station only to find he’d been followed and cornered. At least twenty-one rounds were fired on him before he found his way to safety.

At about 1:20 pm, the Birmingham Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter notification near 50th St. and Richard Arlington Junior Blvd., North. Upon arrival, they observed shell casings on the ground at that location.
Moments later, they responded to a call of a person wounded at a Fire Station. Upon arrival, they met the victim, an unnamed repossession agent with a tale to tell.

Police were told that the agent had repossessed a vehicle from the 4600 block of 12th Avenue North, just blocks from the Shell station.
According to the agent, as he drove away in the repossessed vehicle, he was followed to a gas station, cornered and fired upon. Regardless, he fled for safety at a nearby fire station and was eventually taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police reported that an undisclosed number of people have been detained for questioning. One man was seen in handcuffs near the location where the car was repossessed, but his role was not yet clear.
