Frankfort, KY – March 31, 2024 – When their Wednesday night repossession attempt went sour, a pair of Kentucky Repo Men found themselves on the wrong end of a gun.

It was 9:51 pm when Frankfort Police responded to a call about a disturbance on Old Dailey Avenue where a 911 caller reported to have heard three men arguing with on saying, “put the gun down or I’ll shoot you.”

Once on the scene, officers called 56-year-old Rusty Stacy out of his home and took him into custody. According to the arrest citation, Stacy had pointed a gun at a pair of repossession agents who had attempted to repossess his car.

Retrieving the doorbell camera footage from a residence within view, police allege to have evidence showing Stacy grab one of the repossession agents by the shirt and dragging him away from the vehicle they were attempting to recover.

Stacy is then reportedly seen going into the residence and returning with a firearm. Also emerging from the residence was Stacy’s unnamed wife who reportedly got in between the agents and her husband while he had the gun pointed at them.

It is unclear if a second gun was in possession of one of the repossessors as was indicated by the 911 callers claimed heard statement, “put the gun down or I’ll shoot you.”

In the arrest citation, an officers wrote, “This wanton action put the repo men and his wife at risk for death or serious physical injury. Behind the direction the firearm was pointed were multiple residences as well.”

Stacy was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, a Class D felony, and harassment (physical contact, no injury), a Class B misdemeanor and transported to the Franklin County Regional Jail.

He has since posted bond.
