REPO2023 – Real Topics, Real Education and Real Training

REPO23 Conference Speakers and Topics are making headlines!  Be sure you don’t miss it!

RSIG and Allied have always prided ourselves on bringing attendees industry relevant information.  Our commitment to education, training and professionalism demands it.

A recent guest editorial on CURepossessionThe Deadly Danger in EV Repossessions – spells out the importance of information pertaining to electric vehicles.   “While attending the American Towman Exposition this past November, the Energy Security Agency (ESA)team conducted seminars on the challenges and dangers involving EV’s. I was able to attend the ESA presentations and to say I was shocked is an understatement.

The first thought I had after exiting the classroom was to find a way to get this information to the repossession industry.”  After speaking with Mark Lacek of Commercial Asset Solutions and former editor of the Professional Repossessor Magazine (author of the aforementioned guest editorial) at the Tow Show, the topic was discussed with the REPO23 conference planners and we are bringing this information to REPO23.

Why is this important?  EVs bring about potential risks that the industry must learn about in this ever changing environment and it could be another way to justify your pricing, potentially bringing you additional revenue, as your expertise and work increase in value and risk increase.

Auto Remarketing / Subprime Auto Finance News – recently reported on 3 Trade Associations and 4 Lawmakers question CFPB and NY AG lawsuit against Credit Acceptance.  In this article it explains that “… the American Financial Services Association, alongside the Consumer Bankers Association and the Chamber of Commerce of the United States filed an Amicus brief providing additional information and arguments that scrutinize the lawsuit and the negative impact the plaintiffs’ legal theories could have on all sorts of retail creditors and consumers.”

Why is this important?  Because representatives of the American Financial Services Association have been past speakers at our events and are on the agenda again this year.  They attend our events to learn about the repossession industry so they can better advocate in their lobbying and legislative efforts.  They already have a seat at the lobbying table and take real action like described in the article filing briefs in current cases with other heavy hitting lobbying groups that make an impact.  RSIG is an active member of AFSA; we see where our membership dollars go and what their lobbying efforts do and Allied shares in knowing the value a relationship with AFSA can have.

The Insurance Journal – as well as other publications like the Independent Agents magazine, are speaking to the losses insurance companies recorded in 2022.  These losses are triggering insurance companies to evaluate how to reduce future losses and move the needle from losses to gains.  This is done primarily through 2 ways – #1 bringing in more premiums (increased rates) and #2 reducing what they pay out (reducing coverage, eliminating poor producing lines of business, and cutting their losses… or those insureds with losses is a better way of putting it.)

Why is this important?  We know this isn’t the sexiest of topics, but the CFPB training, driver training, federal and case law reviews provided by our professional speaker line up – is essential to protect the insurability of the repossession industry.

Other topics include Cyber Security another emerging threat you see and read about and have to deal with on a daily basis.  We have a forensic cyber security specialist Dan Roper, recommended to us by Michele Stuart of JAG Investigations, coming to speak on this important topic.

But we’re not only giving you what you need to know – we’re also giving you what you want to know.  Michele Stuart is offering a special 4-hour training event, separate from the Cyber Security presentation for those who have always wanted more!

This is just a small fraction of what REPO23 has to offer. We are also offering an optional tour of the Ford Rouge Factory.   “One of the top Rouge attractions is the walking tour of the DearbornREPO2023 – Real Topics, Real Education and Real Training Truck Plant, where the new military-grade aluminum-alloy-body Ford F-150 truck is made. The elevated walkway, a 1/3 mile journey, provides you with a unique bird’s-eye view of the plant’s final assembly line. You’ll see firsthand the complex web of equipment, robotics, parts delivery and skilled workers that come together to build one truck per minute at full line speeds–yes, you read that right: one truck a minute.”

Opportunities to support the RABF are abundant through on-going raffle ticket sales, the $500 club and a live auction!  If you’d like to support the RABF live auction and have items you’d like to donate, reach out to the RABF via email donations@recoveryagentsbenefitfund.org!

We invite you to join us – membership in RSIG or Allied not required!  But if you’re not a current member of both groups, REPO23 is a great opportunity to learn more about why you should be!  Registration can be completed at www.repo23.com and early bird rates go up this week.
