Tesla Reveals the New “Cyber Truck!”

“Armor Glass Flops During Live Test”

Los Angeles, CA – 21 November 2019 – Tesla co-founder and CEO Elon Musk introduces their new $39,000 electric battery-powered “Cyber Truck” at the Tesla Design Center in Hawthorne, California on Thursday. Featuring 6-passenger seating, 3 motors, armored glass, and up to 500 miles of range, their new “Blade Runner” styled truck will turn some heads.

CEO Elon Musk claimed the trucks “armor glass” was “bulletproof” against a 9mm handgun. But when he got Tesla’s chief designer to throw a metal ball at one of its armored windows, audible surprise could be heard as the glass smashed — twice.

Musk exclaimed: “Oh my f—–g God. Well, maybe that was a little too hard.”

This was after the executive had already taken a sledgehammer to the side of the truck, striking it multiple times without leaving a scratch.

“We threw wrenches, we threw everything even literally the kitchen sink at the glass and it didn’t break. For some weird reason, it broke now,” Musk said, drawing laughs. “I don’t know why. We will fix it in post.”

It’s not clear whether the windows were supposed to shatter in the way that they did. But it’s apparent that Musk wasn’t expecting it, judging from his reaction.

The Cybertruck is made of a heavy-duty exterior shell made from “ultra-hard 30X cold-rolled stainless steel” and armored glass, according to Tesla.

Musk took pains to show the Cybertruck as being unlike any other production passenger truck on the road, punctuated by a 100-cubic-foot cargo area, and up to 14,000 pounds of towing capacity.

The Cybertruck can reach 60 miles per hour in 2.9 seconds, according to Musk.

Musk said. It starts at $39,990 — rising as high as $76,900 — and is expected to begin production in late 2021.

Whether or not this new truck will be capable of serving as a repossession truck will be seen, but until they fix the glass issue, don’t count on the glass to save you from an irate borrower with a bat or worse.
