70 Yr Old Man Charged with Firing Gun during Repo

Layton, UT – September 13, 2012 – 70 year old Edward Stanley Delbridge, of Layton, is facing charges of aggravated assault and discharge of a firearm after his early morning confrontation with a repo man Tuesday morning.

The Repo Man arrived at Delbridges home in Layton at about 2:30 a.m. to repossess the a Honda.

When 70 year old Delbridge heard the repossession taking place in his driveway, he reportedly went outside to see what was going on, according to Layton police Sgt. James Petre.

Delbridge then reportedly went into his house and returned a revolver, which he pointed at the driver and demanded that he drop the car. At one point the Delbridge allegedly fired a round into the air and the pointed the gun at the unnamed Repo Man, who then wisely dropped the car and left, Petre said.

Police arrived and arrested Delbridge who was booked into Davis County Jail on Thursday morning. Delbridge is being held on no bail.

The Davis County Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case before filing formal charges.
